Et Voila!

American in Bath wrote me today saying:

“Where are you? The internet misses you.” To which I reply:

Dearest Internets, I have missed you too. I haven’t felt like writing, though I’ve had loads of time and energy. The well just dried up. I am hoping it comes back soon and of course your gentle prodding always helps.

Oh an how things have changed over here! Last we met I lamented over the no job, no home, no fiancé (in the country) situation. Then, by the grace of God and sisters (and a few internet tricks) I found myself in possession of an apartment, a new job and a new (used!) car in the space of three weeks. And The Boy arrives stateside on Tuesday.

You know, it happened just the way things always happen in my life. Just as I get desperate, just as I think I might start to lose it, things turn around for the better – for the best. That’s how I know there is a God. If you don’t believe in that, at least you can call it a greater power at work. We’re SO not in control here and we can move our lives forward but until you’re going the right direction things tend to be a lot more difficult. It's like paddling against the current without even knowing. Suddenly you turn the boat around and you find yourself gliding into the sunlight without even trying. This is my experience, anyhow.

Our apartment is perfect. The job is great and pays well. The car is neither the Volvo nor the Volkswagen that we were looking for (my dream "adult" car) but is solid and clean. Did I mention The Boy is coming in FIVE DAYS? SIGH. Oh yes, life is good.
